The Home Mold-Risk Audit

Walk through seven areas of your home with quick yes or no taps. Every risky answer becomes a line in your personal report, with the fix and the guide that goes with it.

Area 1 of 7

Bathrooms

Does the bathroom fan vent all the way to the outside?

Any spots or streaks on the ceiling or grout that keep coming back?

Your report

Answer yes or no for each area and your report builds as you go. At the end you can print it, copy it, or work through it room by room.

Most home mold problems trace back to a short list of repeat offenders: a bathroom fan that vents nowhere, roof water dumped at the foundation, a basement that never quite dries out. This audit walks the same route a home inspector typically takes, minus the ladder and the moisture meter.

The questions are weighted. A window that fogs up in January is a small nudge; a bath fan blowing into the attic or ground sloping toward the house is a bigger one, because those conditions feed moisture into the structure day after day. That is why two homes with the same number of flags can land on different risk levels.

Re-run the audit once a season, or after any big change like a new roof, a finished basement, or a wet spring. Conditions drift, and the fixes here are usually cheapest when you catch them early.

Guidance, not an inspection

This audit reads your answers, not your house. It cannot see inside walls or under floors, and it is not a substitute for a professional assessment. If something here worries you, a licensed local pro can confirm what is actually going on.
